A new Trans-Atlantic Data Privacy Framework

On 10 July 2023, the European Commission adopted its adequacy decision for the “EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework” on the EU-US data flows. This new adequacy decision establishes that the United States ensures an adequate level of protection for personal data transferred from the European Union under the new framework.

Specifically, personal data can be transferred safely from EU to certified organizations in the United States that are included in the “Data Privacy Framework List”, maintained and made publicly available by the U.S. Department of Commerce.
