Antitrust, Competition and Consumer Law
The International Bar Association's 25th Competition Conference was held in Florence on 10 and 11 September.
About 120 lawyers in person from around the world, experts in the field, as well as the Director-General and representatives of the EU Commission's Directorate-General for Competition and the chairmen of various European competition authorities have joined the conference.
The conference was opened by the Vice-President of the EU commission and Commissioner for the Competition Margrethe Vestager who reminded the audience of the importance of sustainable competition and the Green Deal to which the Commission is committed.
The panels covered the most relevant issues in the antitrust debate: platform regulation, competition and sustainability, vertical agreements and merger reforms as well as updates on public enforcement.
The conference was attended by the firm's partner and antitrust expert Gabriella Muscolo, now a member of the Competition Committee of IBA, who in the past, as a Commissioner at the Italian Competition Authority, had been a usual speaker at the conference.
