Stefano's long experience in structured, international companies enables him to understand business needs and processes in depth and to provide practical, timely solutions, taking responsibility for its recommendations and managing risk.The international perspective allows him to have a holistic view of the consequences and possible global impacts of business choices made at the local level. Listening skills, great knowledge of the law and creativity make him a professional who is attentive to dialogue, open to the opinions of others and able to find interpretations and solutions, even original ones, to difficult problems. After graduating and several stints in law firms and pharmaceutical companies, Stefano joined GE Healthcare in 2009 as Head of Legal Affairs for Italy, Malta and Israel. He held roles of increasing responsibility until he became Global General Counsel of GE Healthcare Life Sciences and Pharmaceutical Diagnostics in 2018.In this position he was in charge of legal direction and strategic advice, following international acquisitions, opening of business divisions in Asian countries, management of business crises, litigation, compliance and antitrust investigations, negotiation of strategic distribution, licensing (in and out) and co-development contracts as well as international supply contracts and management aspects of the international legal team.He has extensive experience in various sectors: from pharmaceuticals, medical devices, bioprocessing, biotechnology to cellular and genomic therapies. He has been a member of global leadership teams and an advisor to the CEO in strategic and business development decisions. He has good knowledge of pharmaceutical matters of foreign legal systems, especially of the UK, USA and Japan. He is an expert on compliance, administrative liability of entities under Legislative Decree 231/2001 and the possible cross-border consequences of committing offences, specifically on the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and the UK Bribery Act. Stefano graduated with honours in Law from the Catholic University of Milan, qualifying as a lawyer. He writes articles on drug and medical device law, public procurement and compliance. He has been a speaker at several conferences. In 2006 he successfully attended the Pharmaceutical Law Summer School at Imperial College London.Languages:
